The best location for solar panels is the roof of the house. Typically, solar panels are installed on the roof of your house and should be oriented towards the south, which is the direction that receives the most sunlight. Solar panels generate more electricity when they receive the greatest amount of sunlight, which mainly comes from the south. Fortunately, in Andalucía, the long daylight hours and the total number of sunny days per year mean that most orientations offer good levels of solar productivity. The drop in productivity for non-south orientations is much less than in other parts of Spain and continental Europe.

In an ideal world, solar panels would be installed in such a way that they could rotate to follow the sun throughout the day and adjust to maximize their productivity year-round. In the summer solstice, the panels would be flat, and in the winter solstice, they would be vertical. The angle of the panels, therefore, is a compromise to provide the best overall annual productivity, and the exact angle is determined by the exact latitude of the property.
